Heavyn B.
I’m Heavyn, a creative and caring childcare provider currently working as an Early Childhood Educator Assistant while studying Fine Arts at the University of Waterloo. I’ve always loved working with children and creating environments where they feel safe, understood, and free to be themselves. I’m energetic, patient, and very hands-on when it comes to activities. I love arts and crafts, storytelling, music, imaginative play, and finding fun ways to keep kids engaged and learning. My experience in camps and childcare settings has taught me how to balance structure with warmth, and how important it is for children to feel genuinely cared for. Outside of childcare, I enjoy painting, music, creative projects, and spending time outdoors. Families often describe me as dependable, gentle, easygoing, and someone children naturally feel comfortable around. I truly enjoy building meaningful connections with both kids and parents and bringing a positive, supportive energy into the home.
I have over 3 years of experience working with children in camp and educational settings. I currently work as an Early Childhood Educator Assistant with the YMCA, where I support children’s social, emotional, and academic development through creative activities, play, and structured routines. I have also worked as a Camp Counselor with the Tim Hortons Children’s Foundation and as a Summer Camp Coordinator with Bricks 4 Kidz, supervising and leading groups of children in safe, engaging environments. I am certified in First Aid and known for being patient, dependable, creative, and energetic when working with children.
Completed a few years of University and am headed back to finish up and go to teachers college.
