Maya O.
My name is Maya, and I’m a responsible, energetic, and creative individual with a strong passion for working with children. I come from a loving, supportive home and was raised by a single mother who instilled in me the values of kindness, patience, and hard work. I have years of experience caring for children of various ages, from toddlers to preteens, through both camp counseling and teaching roles. I love engaging kids in music, drama, arts and crafts, outdoor play, and reading time. With a background in musical theatre and a deep appreciation for imaginative play, I bring fun, structure, creativity and a little bit of music to every childcare setting. When I’m not working, I enjoy singing, painting, and spending time with family. I’m excited to be a positive role model in your child’s life and to support your family in any way I can.
I have extensive experience working in childcare, both as a camp counselor and in other educational and recreational settings. In these roles, I have been responsible for supervising and engaging groups of children ranging from ages 4 to 12, with up to 15 kids under my care at once. My main responsibilities have included planning and leading age-appropriate activities such as arts and crafts, games, swimming, and team-building exercises, while also ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment. I have experience managing transitions, resolving conflicts, and responding to children’s emotional and physical needs with patience and empathy. My work has helped me develop strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, making me confident in handling both group dynamics and individual care.
