My name is Mafanta. I am originally from Gambia and currently living in Hamilton, Ontario. I recently completed a Pre-Health program at Mohawk College and have a strong interest in caregiving and supporting families. I come from a close-knit family and understand the importance of responsibility, patience, and kindness. I enjoy cooking, reading, and spending time with children and seniors. I’m hardworking, trustworthy, and always ready to learn. I take pride in helping others and building a positive, respectful environment in every home I work in

I have experience caring for children in informal settings, such as looking after younger siblings and family members in both Gambia and Canada. My responsibilities included preparing meals, helping with bathing and dressing, supervising playtime, assisting with homework, and maintaining a clean and safe environment. I’ve cared for up to two children at a time and have always been trusted for my patience, kindness, and reliability. While I haven’t worked in a formal child care job, I am confident in my ability to provide loving, responsible care. I will follow all instructions from parents, stay attentive to each child’s needs, and create a safe, fun, and respectful space for them to grow. I’m also open to learning and improving through training.
