My name is Jessica, a proud and committed Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) who is currently 35 years old. Over the years, I have amassed a significant amount of experience in caring for children. This wasn’t only developed within professional settings, but also from personal experiences. Being the oldest among my 4 siblings, I had the responsibility of taking care of them from an early age. This not only shaped me and my sense of responsibility, but also ignited my passion for child care. Moreover, growing up, I also frequently assisted with babysitting the children of family friends and different families within our local neighborhood. Thus, my childcare experience is enrichened with various real-life scenarios. Furthermore, I embrace the role of a single parent to my beautiful, nine year old daughter. This personal experience of parenthood has provided me with a depth of understanding and empathy which I apply in my childcare approach. Speaking of my professional qualifications, in the year 2020, I was proud to obtain my graduation degree from the Early Childhood Education (ECE) program at Mohawk College. During my time there, I was granted the opportunity to complete 3 comprehensive work placements in distinct childcare environments. The hands-on experience I gained during these programs has greatly enhanced my skills and industry knowledge. As of August 2021, I've joined BGC Hamilton-Halton. I have been serving as a supply RECE for them on a part-time basis for the past 3 years and have gained significant work experience. As for my professional standing, I am Registered with College of ECE. Furthermore, I have both a current vulnerable sector check and certification in First Aid/CPR, implying that I am prepared to handle any emergencies that can potentially occur while caring for children. Currently, I'm in search of employment that can offer me full-time hours, as I am more than ready to commit my time and energy into this field which I am most passionate about. However, I also open-mindedly consider taking a part-time position as circumstances dictate.

I graduated from the ECE program at Mohawk College in 2020. During college, I was able to complete 3 work placements in child care settings. Prior to college, I babysat for a family for 2 years. After graduating, I provided care in my home during the lockdown for 2 children who were doing remote learning for school. In August 2021, I was employed part-time as a supplemental RECE for BGC Hamilton-Halton and am currently still employed part-time.
