Ava T.
My name is Ava, and I bring over a decade of hands-on child care experience to the families I work with. From my early years as a babysitter at age 12 to caring for children with special needs through my teens, and eventually becoming a full-time nanny for three years, nurturing and supporting kids has always been a meaningful part of my life. Beyond being dependable and highly organized, I genuinely enjoy building real connections with the children and families I support. I'm patient, calm under pressure, and I approach every day with a sense of warmth, creativity, and attentiveness. I understand how much trust it takes to welcome someone into your home and into your child’s life—and I take that trust very seriously. Outside of work, I’m passionate about social justice, environmental advocacy, and lifelong learning. I have an honours bachelor of arts degree form the University of Toronto in Critical Equity Studies and Environmental Studies, and I’m currently a second year law school student with a focus on human rights-based advocacy. In my spare time, I love nature walks with my sheepadoodle Teddi, crafting with my twin sister, reading, baking and spending time with my family! I’m someone who leads with heart, structure, and a genuine love for kids—and I’d be honoured to be a positive, consistent presence in your child’s life.
I’ve been caring for children for over a decade, starting at age 12 as a neighborhood babysitter. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with kids of all ages, including children with special needs, which taught me how to be patient, attentive, and adaptable to every child’s unique personality and needs. Throughout high school, I continued to grow in this work, gaining experience in creating safe, nurturing, and engaging environments where children could thrive. Most recently, I spent three wonderful years as a full-time, permanent nanny for a family, where I supported the day-to-day care of their children—from school routines and meals to playtime, emotional support, and developmental activities. I became a trusted and consistent presence in their home, forming strong bonds not just with the kids, but with the entire family. As a caregiver, I lead with love, structure, and calm, and I truly value being part of a child’s growth and a parent’s peace of mind. I understand how important it is to find someone you can rely on completely, and I take that responsibility to heart.
