Bronwyn L.
My name is Bronwyn, a 40-year-old single woman with no children. As a result, I have plenty of time and energy to devote to the children I care for. Among my nieces and nephews, I am known as the "cool, fun, silly" aunt. I currently work at a local school doing yard duty, where I have formed connections with many of the students. I have experience with children ranging from newborns to 13 years old and possess an extensive education and strong background in childcare. In addition to my professional experience, I enjoy hiking, traveling, cooking, reading, beading, and playing the piano. I have a genuine love for children and believe I would be the ideal candidate to care for yours. I am willing to go above and beyond for your family, just as I do for my own.
I have an extensive background in childcare starting from the age of 11 when my mother ran a daycare out of our home. As I grew up I began to babysit for those families. I've done babysitting for several families over the years where I was responsible for picking the children up after school, making healthy snack and dinner, help with homework, activities indoor and outdoor, keep kitchen tidy, and bedtime if parents had to work late. I currently have 4 nieces and 3 nephews and with no kids myself I love being involved in their lives as much as I can- which is alot! I have a degree in Anthropology and History from the University of Victoria. During this time I worked for BC Ferries proving that in an emergency I act without hesitation. I moved to Toronto where I earned my diploma in Early Childhood Education from Seneca College realizing that working with children was my passion. I hold a Level 3 ECE title in Nova Scotia. I have worked in private schools and public schools in Toronto and appreciate what those setting have to offer. I am currently a lunch monitor at a local junior high. I have the following additional certifications- Education: Indigenous Canada Course, Royal Conservatory Piano Grade 6, Safety- Vulnerable Sector Check, Child Abuse Registry, CPR Level C (process of recertification) I strive to create a safe, inclusive, fun, environment where children are supported as equals and their individual needs recognized and nurtured.
