Nikki B.
I am a 22-year-old student at the University of Guelph, completing my degree in Animal Biology and planning to pursue further education. Raised in Ottawa and Montreal, I grew up with my parents, sister, and our family pet. While my academic focus is in animal biology, I have gained diverse professional experience, including roles in vet clinics, farms, banking, grocery stores, and as a skating instructor. Fluent in four languages, including English and French, I am able to connect with individuals from diverse backgrounds. My passion for working with children is deeply fulfilling, and I have experience in babysitting, camp counselling, and tutoring with Kumon. I am highly creative, with hobbies that include knitting, crochet, drawing, photography, baking and animal volunteer work. I pride myself on being reliable, compassionate, and dedicated to providing children with positive, engaging, and supportive environments. My broad skill set and commitment to learning make me a versatile and enthusiastic caregiver.
I bring a well-rounded skill set in child care, developed through experiences in babysitting, camp counselling, and academic tutoring. In my role as a babysitter within my community, I provided attentive care for children ages 2-12, organizing activities, managing routines, and fostering open communication with parents. As a counsellor for Adventure Camp at the Evergreen Brickworks, I supervised and mentored groups of 8-10 children ages 4-11, leading outdoor exploration and team-building exercises while ensuring their safety and emotional well-being. Additionally, I worked as an instructor for Kumon, where I supported students in Math and English, helping them enhance their academic abilities and self-confidence. These experiences have equipped me with a deep understanding of child development, a capacity for individualized care, and a proven ability to build meaningful, supportive relationships with both children and families.
