I am an outgoing, enthusiastic, personable and very well rounded university student. Proficient in the French Language through immersion programs and multiple visits to France. My personal interests are centred around travel, athletics and music. I am very personable and have a passion for children which includes qualities of attentiveness, proactive planner, compassionate, and a good communicator. I always advocate for safety. Duties included, but were not limited to, drop off and pick up at school, bringing kids to swim class, baseball practice etc., meal prep, house work, engaging children in thoughtful exercise and play, minding the dog, maintaining a strong and vocal relationship with the parents, and being a positive role model in the lives of the children. I have extensive babysitting experience, spanning over five years and children aged between two and fourteen. I absolutely love children and wish to have four of my own one day. I am attentive, an advocate for safety, I love to engage children and consider myself very approachable. I recognize the value in constant communication and a strong relationship between nanny and parent. I also recognize the importance of positive influences in a child's life. I have been enrolled in Queen's University's Concurrent Education program, completing my BA in French Literature, with the goal of becoming a high-school French teacher and, perhaps one day, the principal of a high-school. I hope to become a French teacher as pursuing a job where I can make a direct difference is very important to me. I am eager to teach young minds about peace, love, equality, and how unbelievably lucky we are to live in a first world country. In June of 2013 graduated from Grimsby Secondary School's French Immersion program. Thanks to this program, and spending four months in France on a Rotary Youth Exchange in 2011, I am bilingual in French. Going on exchange to France when I was sixteen changed my world. I developed the travel bug and decided to put university on hold in order to learn about myself and discover the world around me. Additionally, I have gained numerous life skills through my trips backpacking through Thailand and Europe, as well as attending Korea University in Seoul for my third year of university. I am confident in myself, resilient, and know how to handle myself and stay calm in difficult situations. I am confident in my decision-making skills, have a strong sense of self, and am very independent.
