Tracy-Jane V.
I grew up in the small town of Grand Valley. I am number four of six children, and I also have lots of cousins who I see often and grew up spending a lot of time with. For elementary school, I attended Dufferin Area Christian School in Laurel, and for high school I went to Emmanuel Christian High School. During my summers growing up, I loved camping and going on bike rides with my sisters and brother, and just being outside as much as possible. After high school, I went to Conestoga College and completed the Educational Support program. During that time, I did two placements, one at Victoria Terrace Public School and the other at St. Joseph’s Catholic School, which gave me such a great chance to work with and get to know so many different children. While I was there, I also worked as a camp counselor and assistant director during the summers, which I really enjoyed because I love planning activities and being part of a fun, active environment. In my free time, I love colouring, drawing, and painting, anything creative really. I also enjoy playing different instruments, especially my ukulele, and I love singing whenever I get the chance. When I’m with friends, I’m usually chatting, swimming, or going on hikes and just enjoying time together. Right now, I work at an elementary school as an EA, and I live on my own.
My name is Tracy. I am a qualified EA who comes from a family of six kids and lots of cousins, so I have always been around children and spent a lot of time babysitting growing up. I am currently working in a school, and for the past three summers I worked at a day camp as a counselor and assistant director, where I spent a lot of time planning activities and keeping kids engaged. Last year I boarded with a family for about six weeks, and spent much of my time hanging out with three of their daughters 8, 9 and 12. We spent time swimming, playing outdoor games, and doing things like board games together. I also enjoy planning games and activities during family gatherings for my younger cousins and their kids, and I regularly spend time with my 1 year old niece going for walks and to the park. I live on my own, so I am used to cooking and keeping things clean. I also do housekeeping for a family every few weeks.
