My name is Samantha. I’m 21 years old and was born and raised in Alberta. I grew up on an acreage just outside of Tofield, but always attended school in Sherwood park and now live in town so I’m very comfortable being outside in all kinds of weather, and I’m not bothered by bugs or animals—I actually love animals and would be more than happy to help out with pet care if needed. I’m more on the introverted side, but I definitely come out of my shell as I get to know people. I’m soft-spoken, gentle, and kind, and I’ve always had a passion for working with kids. I really value building a strong, trusting connection with the families I work with so that both parents and children feel comfortable and supported. My goal is always to create a calm, safe, and positive environment where kids feel happy, understood, and cared for. I also have my driver’s license, a clean driving record, and my own reliable vehicle, so I’m able to help with school pickups, outings, or errands if needed. I can also provide a current vulnerable sector criminal record check for peace of mind.

While I don’t have extensive childcare experience, I’ve spent some time working in a daycare and have hands-on experience with diaper changes, feedings, and engaging young children in play. I’ve realized I thrive best in a smaller, more personal childcare setting where I can give each child the attention they deserve. I’m currently reading the ECE Level One textbook to deepen my understanding of early childhood development, as I’m genuinely passionate about how children’s brains grow and learn. I love planning sensory activities, music time, and other brain-stimulating games, and I’m always eager to learn more. I’m a great listener, and I always follow parents’ directions closely to ensure their child’s care is appropriate, safe, and tailored to their needs.
