Kiarra M.
I have always felt a connection to children. I admire their playfulness, their bravery, and their imagination. As someone who has dabbled (watched documentaries, took one university course) in developmental psychology, I know a lot about how their young minds work and how to adapt to each child. They deserve to be treated as people, just as we do. While we have a duty to protect them from harm, they are also more clever than we give them credit for, and when we say "You'll get it when you're older, " it makes them feel left out. I do my best every day to help them understand that while there are simply some things they just can't know yet, they are still just as much apart of the conversation. I'm very passionate about childcare and I'd be honoured to receive the privilege of proving that to your family.
I have cared for four children at a time, the youngest being six months and the oldest being twelve. I have also cared for children who have special needs. I love working with kids, learning who they are, and watching them change and grow. Taking care of kids is challenging, and I feel rewarded by their happiness every time I tackle that challenge.
