I'm Jetta, a 24-year-old nanny, based in Edmonton. I carry three years of hands-on experience caring for children aged 4 months to 3 years, as I have spent the past several years as a full-time nanny to my beautiful nieces - an experience I cherish and term as the "best job ever". Alongside my practical experience, I bring a strong educational backing as I'm currently pursuing my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Women's and Gender Studies from the University of Alberta. This unique combination of field experience and studying allows me to understand children's emotional and cognitive developments. My availability stretches across the whole week, from mornings until evenings, so I can cater to various family schedules conveniently. I am also comfortable working with children with disabilities, bringing my patience and understanding to the forefront. As for the duties I can perform, my broad range includes cooking, light housekeeping, doing children's and family laundry, preparing children's meals, helping with homework, and even adhering to specific dietary rules. I can also walk the dog or assist in other pet care if needed! Outside of my nanny endeavours, I am passionate about reading, knitting, and embroidery, and I am currently learning how to sew. Apart from these hobbies, I am proudly on the board of directors of the summer camp I used to attend, where I train the staff and help them overcome any challenges they may face. Lastly, I hold certifications in First Aid and CPR, ensuring the safety of your children. I'm ready to start immediately and committed to providing your children with a nurturing environment. Depending upon the family's need, I am open to both full-time and part-time roles. However, as I am attending university, I do prefer a live-out arrangement. In October of 2021 my sister went back to work 4 months after having her daughter, Molly. I took care of my Molly full-time Monday to Friday from the time she was 4 months old to 2.5 years old. When my sister welcomed her second daughter, Peyton, I again took over her daily care and Molly went to Daycare. I wrapped up my time as their Nanny this past December as Peyton is heading to daycare in the new year. It was 3 years full of sleep training, playing, reading and was the most rewarding job I have ever had. I am comfortable preparing meals, whether it is formula or food for older kids. Beyond Nannying I grew up volunteering at a sleep away summer camp for kids aged 6-16, then worked there for a couple years in various roles and am now on the board of directors so I have a lot of experience with kids in that regard as well.
