Kourtney C.
I am a kind, caring and energetic 24-year-old individual who has a passion for the great outdoors. As an enthusiast of the outdoors, I spend most of my time in nature. On an educational note, I carry a bachelor's degree in the fields of sociology and history. Currently, I am in the final year of an elementary education degree. When it comes to my pastimes, I love getting lost in books. Painting is another passion of mine. I also love spending quality time with my friends. Walking is more than just exercise for me; it helps me feel relaxed and calm. Engaging in sports activities is another way I keep myself fit while enjoying competitive and fun-filled moments. Being in the kitchen is one of my guilty pleasures that fills my heart with joy as I love to bake! On the professional front, I run an innovative kids' program known as 'Midweek'. This is dedicated to encouraging the learning process for children from grades 1 to 4. Simultaneously, I invest my efforts into being a youth leader for an age group of grades 7 to 12, implementing guidance and support. If I were to describe myself, the words 'patient' and 'nurturing' fit best. These are not merely terms but anchors that guide my interaction with younger children who require that bit of extra guidance and care. I am known for my patience and understanding - qualities I consider vital while dealing with young ones. Dependability and responsibility are attributes that can also describe my character. Although I love a good routine and schedule, I love implementing elements of fun and creativity into everything. Whether it is engaging in interactive games or leading arts and crafts projects, my aim is always to stimulate creativity and engagement. I believe in making every child feel valued, special, and comfortable under my guidance, fostering an environment of trust and mutual respect. I have been babysitting since I was in jr. high. I have also volunteered at a retirement home for two years. I have cooked, cleaned, and helped with homework, and bedtime. If the kids needed anything, I was there. In the retirement home, I didn't do much, however, I kept them company and I helped in any way that I could.
I have extensive experience caring for children of various ages, typically working with groups of up to three/four children at a time. In previous roles, I managed the daily routines of each child from getting ready in the morning to preparing them for bedtime. My main job was ensuring a safe environment at all times, keeping a close eye on children during indoor and outdoor activities, and establishing clear boundaries for their protection. I also prepared meals and helped with homework when necessary. I have worked with newborns all the way through grade 6.
