Sammy C.
I am Sammy, a certified Level I Early Childhood Educator. In the past 14 years, I have worked in various roles involving the care and development of children, reflecting my lifelong passion for this field. I am currently completing dual majors in Psychology and Sociology at the University of Alberta, the knowledge from which further equips me to provide holistic support for children’s growth. I have spent my last two years operating my own respite business for children with disabilities, gaining in-depth insights into and experience in caring for a wide variety of needs. That said, I'm equipped and ready to support up to five children at a time, including those with special needs, as a full or part-time nanny, virtual babysitter, nanny/tutor, mother's helper, or babysitter. More than just watching over them, I am happy to do minor housekeeping, grocery shopping, meal preparations, pet care, and even assist with educational activities, such as homework help. My availability is flexible, perfect for busy families. As well, I have a valid driver's license and am comfortable with using my own vehicle on duty. Despite not having children of my own, I have abundant experience with various age groups, ranging from newborns to teenagers. Outside my professional responsibilities, I love to crochet; take long, peaceful walks with my dogs; crafting; and playing various games, all activities that bring balance and tranquillity to my life. These pursuits also help fuel my creative approach towards engaging children, making learning an enjoyable and fulfilling process for them. A positive, nurturing environment is paramount for the proper growth of a child, and you can count on me to create such a space, full of understanding, empathy, and care. I am ready to provide a police check when needed and further ensure that I can meet any dietary requirements your family might have. As a native English speaker and a Canadian citizen, I look forward to supporting Edmonton's families with their childcare needs while continuing to explore the intricacies of their unique cultures. In a nutshell, my aim as your child's nanny is to create an atmosphere where your little ones feel cherished, understood, and well-cared for, with their individual needs meticulously looked after. Trust that my devotion to childcare, combined with my extensive professional and personal experiences, gears me adequately to fulfil this responsibility.
