I am reaching out to introduce myself. I was born and grew up in a beautiful city known as Medicine Hat, which holds a special place in my heart. From the tranquility of the stunning landscapes to the charm of the friendly folks, Medicine Hat was a wonderful place to spend my formative years. However, life's curveballs and adventures have recently led me to relocate, bidding my old neighborhood a fond goodbye, and making a fresh start in a new city. Currently, I'm residing in Leduc. The move has been a significant shift for me, but I'm settling down slowly and steadily. Leduc, with its distinctive allure, vibrant community, and abundant opportunities, has warmly received me, and I am looking forward to creating new memories and experiences in this city. I am also quite blessed to have been given the privilege and responsibility of motherhood. The journey of raising my son, nurturing his growth, and witnessing his ever changing interests has been the most rewarding experience. Being a mother has played a significant role in shaping my identity and perspective. It has steeled my resolve, expanded my heart, and sharpened my instincts. This new chapter in Leduc doesn't just bring a change of scenery, but it also comes with exciting new responsibilities, contribution opportunities, and anticipated joys as I continue my journey in this supportive community. I look forward to embracing all that is in store for me in this dynamic city, and I am excited to connect with the amazing individuals who call Leduc home.
I was employed as an Education Assistant to work with children that were accepted into the PUF program. I specialized in working with children requiring speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy and behavioural therapy. Many of the children I cared for had been subjected to severe trauma in their personal lives which required extra love and understanding that I was able to provide. I worked directly with the paraprofessionals and the family to develop an Individual Service Plan (ISP). Using the ISP as my baseline, I developed an environment in which each child would could safely and confidently explore and grow. I have training in childhood trauma, tantrums, brain development, sensory needs and play therapy (Which were obtained through district seminars, online training and the Institution of Child Psychology). I took the first year and a half of my Bachelors of Education (before changing to a different program due to the job market). I did my practicum with a Grade 6 classroom. I take pride in developing engaging and educational activities when working with children of all ages.
