Cristine Joy R.
I am Cristine Joy an International student here in Canada, currently taking Early Childhood Education. I am a licensed professional teacher with a Bachelor’s Degree from the Philippines. I have extensive experience in both private and public school settings, where I’ve developed a student-centered approach that prioritizes interactive, inclusive, and engaging learning environments. My teaching philosophy focuses on fostering holistic growth—academic, emotional, and social—ensuring that students thrive in all aspects of their development. In addition to my teaching experience, I am also a mother to a 9-year-old, which has deepened my understanding of providing care and love to children. This personal experience has enriched my ability to nurture and guide young minds. I have also worked as a loan processor and treasury assistant, roles that have honed my skills in organization, communication, and multitasking—qualities that I bring into my caregiving and teaching approach. These skills allow me to manage responsibilities effectively and provide a structured, nurturing environment for the children I care for. Family-oriented, I understand the importance of providing consistent care, and my hobbies reflect a balance of creativity and practicality. I enjoy reading, outdoor activities, and exploring new teaching methods to ensure I am continuously improving. Employers will appreciate my compassionate nature, attention to detail, and dedication to supporting the overall well-being and development of children.
As a teacher with experience in both private and public schools in the Philippines, my role often extended beyond traditional instruction to encompass aspects of childcare, much like a nanny. This was particularly evident in how I approached the holistic development of my students, attending to their emotional and social needs alongside their academic growth. In a manner similar to a nanny’s duties, I ensured that my students felt safe, cared for, and supported throughout the day. I provided nurturing guidance, especially for younger students, helping them develop essential life skills like responsibility, empathy, and problem-solving. Just as a nanny balances caregiving with educational activities, I created an environment where learning was integrated with play, creativity, and real-world applications, fostering a balanced and positive development. In addition to my teaching experience, I am also a mother to a 9-year-old, which has deepened my understanding of providing care and love to children. This personal experience has enriched my ability to nurture and guide young minds. My experience in private schools, where I often had closer communication with parents, allowed me to collaborate on ensuring that the children’s needs were met both in and out of the classroom. This mirrored the way a nanny works closely with parents to provide consistent care and support for the child’s overall well-being.
I graduated a Bachelor’s degree in the Philippines and a registered Professional Teacher from the Professional Regulation Commision.
