My name is Ruby, I'm a psychology graduate with a passion for children's mental health and well-being. I have two years of experience in licensed childcare and a big family with lots of opportunity to learn before I had even begun my career. I have two cats, and I love to read, hike, and do creative things. In childcare, I believe that a good amount of outdoor time, focused attention, and intentional understanding are key to being a truly great caretaker. I'm always happy to help out with homework, provide educational experiences, and practice life skills with children in my care! I have worked with over 100 children of many ages (5 months to 12 years), so I am very comfortable with adapting my care and providing age-appropriate experiences to any age group.

I hold a BA in psychology in which I was focused largely on developmental/children's psychology. After completing my degree (and during) I worked as a Teaching Assistant at Leaps & Bounds in Arnprior, then as a Supply Educator with Mississippi Mills Childcare Services . As an eldest daughter, I was the caretaker for my two younger sisters throughout much of my childhood, as well as providing childcare for my two nieces and multiple family friends. I also have three years of experience volunteering for youth groups in my hometown!
