My name is Victoria, and I am the youngest of eight siblings, which has given me a wealth of experience in caring for children. I am also an aunt to 18 nieces and nephews, and have been involved in babysitting for my siblings’ friends and cousins throughout my life. I was employed as an Education Assistant to work with children that were accepted into the PUF program. I specialized in working with children requiring speech therapy, occupational therapy, physical therapy and behavioural therapy. Many of the children I cared for had been subjected to severe trauma in their personal lives which required extra love and understanding that I was able to provide. I worked directly with the paraprofessionals and the family to develop an Individual Service Plan (ISP). Using the ISP as my baseline, I developed an environment in which each child would could safely and confidently explore and grow. I have training in childhood trauma, tantrums, brain development, sensory needs and play therapy (Which were obtained through district seminars, online training and the Institution of Child Psychology). I took the first year and a half of my Bachelors of Education (before changing to a different program due to the job market). I did my practicum with a Grade 6 classroom. I take pride in developing engaging and educational activities when working with children of all ages.
