ECE
At new brighton child care, I was a preschool educator! It is a reggio facility, so our planning included lots of loose parts, open-ended, interest based learning. My class LOVED anything that included messy sensory play, so we did a lot of it! I am currently an on-call staff as I am furthering my education online. This made working 40hr weeks on top of full time school feel a bit too heavy of a load as the environment is very fast paced with 19 3-4 year olds in my room.

ECE
I moved to Ontario for a short amount of time to see my partners life out there. During this time, I worked at a school and daycare in a small town near by. I worked in the OOSC, as well as preschool. It was a forest school, so we spend a lot of time outdoors. We were located directly across from a forest, skating rink, trails, golfing, etc. We planned programming based off of interests, as well as expanding knowledge. I moved home due to my sister having a baby!

Early childhood educator
I started at this job as an out of school care educator. I made strong connections with children, and was asked to be an aide for a girl in need of behavioural support. I was pleased to have this position as I am a very patient, understanding person. After a while, she unfortunately moved. I went back to being part of the ECE team in out of school care, as well as a preschool teacher in the middle of the day. I got to program plan based on children's interests, spend lots of time in the outdoors, build relationships with children, families, and colleagues. Since it is located in langdon, it was a very community based facility.

Aide
In 2018, I had my first job in the ECE field. It was a part time gig from 2-6, working with a 13 year old boy with autism. It was the best job! In this position I had the opportunity to grow a relationship with him and his family, support all of his needs, help him engage and interact with others, and be his safe person. Although he was considered "non-verbal", we had our own ways of communicating.

Nanny
I started nannying for this family during high school. At the time, the twin boys were 3 years old. On top of caring for the children, I cooked and did light cleaning, as well as house/pet sitting. Once I graduated, the family had a new addition, a baby girl. I started watching her along with the boys at 3 weeks old. I began working over nights, sometimes for weeks at a time while the parents travelled. I really became a part of the family! COVID hit and the boys switched over to home school. I became their teacher!vWe were always out and about both learning and playing, whether it be at parks, having picnics, play places, nature, pools! You name it, we've done it! Eventually the boys became old enough to not need a sitter, and the youngest started school.
