I have looked after children all my life. I've run a private day home for over 20 years for various ages but with a focus on before/after school with a ride to school. I have three grown children who all completed a University of Calgary degree. I was an honors student and finished two years in the Education program at the University of Calgary. While raising my children, I decided to start a day home. All of the children in my day home were happy and remained until they completed grade six. I have also worked in the oil and gas industry for many years preparing/editing proposals/quotes for power gen and compressors. I live in the NW Calgary community of Citadel for 31 years. I am a single retired lady looking to fill my time productively and I have lots of flexibility. The children in my care over the years have enjoyed their time in my home and many reached out to me to keep in touch. My day home always had a variety of age groups from babies to grade six. I was very creative to keep the kids entertained and to include all different ages in each activity. Every day the children were having so much fun that they did not want to go home. My last group of children during covid came full time to my house while their parents worked remote and I homeschooled all of them. I kept the parents fees as before/after school fees. This was a strange, scary time and I tried to do my part to help. My children are all grown so I am now available to do child care away from home. I do enjoy children and pets!

I was the oldest of 5 children so I looked after my sibling, dayhome provider for over 20 years, and I have 3 grown children and 3 grandchildren. I am still in contact with many of the parents that I did dayhome for and several children that came to my dayhome. During covid I homeschooled the children in my care while the parents worked remote.
