Keely A.
My name is Keely, and I’m a 20-year-old student originally from southern Alberta. I’m currently studying Political Science and Ancient History at the University of British Columbia. I’ll be in town for the summer and am available for nannying until I return to school in September. I’m a responsible, nurturing, and attentive caregiver who genuinely enjoys working with children of all ages. I believe in creating a safe, structured, and fun environment that supports kids' growth and well-being. I love to stay active with the children I care for—playing outside, going on walks, doing crafts, playing games, and engaging in imaginative or educational activities. I try to minimize screen time as much as possible and instead focus on meaningful, hands-on interactions that help kids learn and have fun. In addition to childcare, I’m happy to help with household tasks and feel confident in meal preparation, light cleaning, laundry, and general tidying. I have experience with tutoring and language learning and can support your child’s education if desired (including Latin—I speak and write it!). I’m also highly organized, communicative, and dependable. Whether it’s helping with routines, keeping things clean and running smoothly at home, or just being a warm and trustworthy presence for your children, I’m committed to supporting your family’s needs this summer.
I have been babysitting and working with kids since I was 13 years old. I have had many years to grow and gain experience with children and how best to adapt to each child's needs. I have worked with over 15 families and I can't wait to work with many more. I have also acted as tutor to younger children and I use what I was taught through the training prior to the positions and the lessons learned there to help with any learning that the child needs or the parents would like to develop. My previous roles have equipped me with the skills necessary to create a safe, engaging, and stimulating environment where children can learn and grow. With each child I strive to know their interests and personalities so that I can suit their individual needs. I pride myself in my ability to create age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development. I also have a proficiency in handling household tasks such as meal preparation, laundry, and light housekeeping while being engaged with.
