Emma C.
I'm Emma! I'm 27 years old and I live in Calgary with my boyfriend Kyle, our dog, and our cat. I’ve been working with kids since high school, and it’s something I’ve always been passionate about. I’m energetic, bubbly, and super creative – whether it’s planning fun activities, helping with homework, or exploring a child's interests with them, I always bring a lot of positive energy to the table. I am looking for nanny positions over the next 2 years while I finish my current studies. I have a strong background in working with children of all ages, from babies to preschoolers to teens, including my most recent role as a literacy and math instructor for students with learning disabilities. I worked in this role for 6 years and I am very passionate about it. Through that role, I gained certification and training in various teaching methods, including Wilson Reading System, Lindamood-Bell instruction for Reading and Comprehension, Jump Math, Chisanbop Math, and Woodin Math. My experience also includes being an outdoor school and education guide, a camp counsellor, a preschool assistant teacher, a nanny, and even a tennis instructor – so I’m always up for an adventure or outdoor play! When I’m not working, you’ll find me on the ice playing hockey, horseback riding, painting and drawing, hiking, or camping in the mountains. I love being outside, being creative, exploring, and being active. I’m excited to bring my creativity, patience, and kindness to any nanny position. Let's make some memories and have some fun together!
With years of diverse experience working with children ages 0 to 17, I am passionate about creating engaging, supportive, and fun environments that foster growth, learning, and well-being. My experience includes working as a literacy and math instructor for students with learning disabilities, where I developed individualized educational plans and provided specialized support to enhance their academic progress. I worked with students aged 5-17 in this role, both individually and in small classes. This role honed my ability to adapt my approach to meet each child's unique needs, which is a key skill in providing excellent nanny care. As a previous outdoor education guide and program facilitator, I led adventure-based learning activities for children and youth, fostering teamwork, self-confidence, and resilience in a natural setting. This experience aligns with my ability to bring creativity and problem-solving to everyday situations, while also ensuring children’s safety and enjoyment. In my role as an assistant preschool teacher, I developed early childhood education plans and engaged in hands-on learning, providing a strong foundation for my ability to nurture younger children in a dynamic and stimulating environment. Additionally, my experience as a tennis instructor and program facilitator for children has enhanced my skills in managing groups of kids, maintaining a fun yet structured environment, and encouraging healthy physical activity. With certifications in child development, first aid, literacy instruction, and outdoor education, I am well-prepared to care for children of all ages, whether it’s assisting with homework, organizing activities, or ensuring safety and well-being. I worked as a nanny for multiple families during my first university degree, caring for children from 10 months to 7 years old. I bring patience, kindness, and a commitment to the positive development of children, and I am excited to provide professional, reliable, and compassionate nanny services tailored to your family’s needs!
