I have been a summer day camp counsellor throughout the summers, which involved making schedules for, taking the kids swimming, doing crafts with them, doing physical activities, and teaching them daily life skills. I also learned how to communicate well with parents and the kids, for example, with an injury or misbehaviors. Throughout the summers, I also learned to do paperwork like medical forms, sorting through papers a week before the camps started, making sure all the kid's forms had been filled out correctly, and making phone calls to parents if anything needed to be added. I was taught to be the support to the counsellor when dealing with difficult parents and children and making our workplace a safe place and supportive place for everyone. I am the head coach of girls' soccer teams ages 4-8. I had to teach the girls leadership, communication, and teamwork skills so that they could excel not only as a team but also as individuals.
