Hello! My name is Monica!! A bit about me: I am a reliable and dedicated individual who takes pride in being hard-working, easy-going, organized, respectful, and trustworthy. I grew up with five siblings (yes, FIVE!) in Lagos, Nigeria with me being the 5th child. I've been in Canada for a couple of years and initially started babysitting/housekeeping as a way to earn extra income whilst in school. I quickly realised that I very much enjoyed what I did. I absolutely love spending time with kids and bringing smiles to their faces. In my free time, I enjoy baking and cooking. I'm a fantastic cook!!! I've been told by so many people I've lost count. I’m fluent in English but also know a bit of French. I’m a patient person who enjoys learning and having fun along the way! I have a ton of experience caring for kids. I used to work as an aide in a Dayhome supervising 6 (six) amazing, energetic kids from the ages 8 months - 4 years! I loved it so much, I decided to take up babysitting full time. I organized and lead daily activities aimed at enhancing social, cognitive, and physical skills, such as reading, arts and crafts, outdoor play, and interactive learning. In addition to planning activities, I managed essential daily routines, including feeding, changing diapers, and naptime schedules, ensuring all aspects of care were met with warmth and efficiency. My commitment to safety and my training in CPR and first aid helped me respond effectively to any unexpected situations, giving parents peace of mind. I will closely supervise activities to prevent accidents and promote a sense of security. Apart from working as a housekeeper and babysitter on the side, throughout my time in Calgary I have also gained valuable experience working across various industries and this has enabled me amass skills and expertise in quite a number of fields. I've worked at two grocery stores, a number of restaurants and also at Calgary Stampede! Which was definitely the most challenging job I've had till date. I also worked at a salad making company which was located in a warehouse. I've always worked with other people thus I have great interpersonal skills. Each of these roles have contributed to my versatile skill set and I have cultivated a rich tapestry of skills and interests that I am eager to bring to any opportunity that comes my way.
