Through Enable, I have been able to provide care for clients with disabilities. This includes planning activities, cooking meals, ensuring cleanliness and safety, as well as providing emotional and social support. Together, myself and those I serve have met goals regarding physical and social health. My favourite part of this position is that I may provide joy and security to others.

I started this position as a recreation leader which allowed to me to create fun filled days of physical activity, games and crafts. I had the oppertunity to lead a team at New Brighton and enjoyed this experience. With the help of the kids at the After School program I worked in, my vision for a solar system for decorating a play room came to life. At a preschool program I assisted in, I helped to create a fairy garden, with the children, to brighten and encourage the community. At this time, I achieved my level one certification for Early Childhood Education and was happy to start serving at School's Out. My supervisors encouraged me when I was invited to be a part of the Calgary Pride Parade and an advertising campaign. These were wins for me because they showed me that I am a good representative of City employees. I have gained skills in conflict resolution, lesson planning and implementation, as well as skills in time management and discipline, among many others.
