Breana A.
I’m Breana, but feel free to call me Bre. I’m an experienced and passionate nanny seeking a part-time role with a wonderful family. As the oldest of four siblings (with a nine-year age gap) in a single-parent household, I developed a strong sense of responsibility and I grew into a caring role, learning to support others. I babysat children in my neighborhood as a teen and took a four-year break during university. I’ve now returned to childcare with a deeper understanding of child development, psychology, and nervous system regulation. Currently, I work as a part-time Forest School Educator, where I integrate nature, creativity, and hands-on learning into children’s daily experiences. I value a child-led, play-based approach that fosters curiosity, growth, and confidence. I’m also training to become a certified Somatic Practitioner, supporting children in connecting with their feelings and bodies for emotional regulation. I believe every child deserves to have their emotions acknowledged and accepted, allowing them to feel safe, heard and seen. I bring a creative, engaging, and nurturing approach to routines, always prioritizing safety with up-to-date CPR and First Aid certification. I also have completed a background check and can provide references. Beyond childcare, I aim to make parents’ lives easier by assisting with light housekeeping, laundry, transportation, homework help, and pet care (I love animals). In my personal time, I enjoy adventuring in nature; hiking, camping, bike riding or just being present. A big part of my life is mindfulness and working on being present through practices like as meditation and Yoga; which help to keep me grounded, energized, and inspired. I’d love the opportunity to meet your family and discuss how I can support your children’s growth, curiosity, and happiness- I’m excited to connect!
My journey in childcare began early as the oldest of four siblings with a single mother, providing me with confidence and patience in managing a busy household. I built on this foundation by working as a dedicated babysitter for many years throughout my teens, gaining practical experience with various age groups. After a necessary break to focus on my university studies, I returned to my passion and now work part-time as a Forest School Educator, which emphasizes child-led learning, outdoor exploration, and risk assessment in nature. I am now seeking a part-time position that allows me to combine my professional training in experiential learning with my lifelong commitment to nurturing and engaging children.
