Catalina A.
My name is Catalina , I am Chilean and I speak Spanish and English. I am 23 years old. One of my hobbies has been dancing ballet and contemporary dance throughout my childhood and adolescence. I love the arts and learning new things. I consider myself a naturally curious person, interested in learning more about this world and meeting people from different cultures and languages. I really like science, and during my school years I participated in many science fairs and qualified for a science camp in my country, so promoting science in children is something I am equally passionate about. I am a very proactive person, I like to bring out the best in people and enhance their abilities. In Chile, I studied Psychology and, nearing the end of my fourth year, I decided to travel to Canada to learn and improve my English. I love my studies and I strive to teach emotional intelligence and provide people with tools they can use in their lives wherever I am. Helping others is something that gives me great satisfaction. Therefore, I have also participated in many volunteer programs and camps, and I also chose to study that university degree.
In Chile, I cared for three children, one of whom had ADHD. Subsequently, in Spain, I had the opportunity to care for another three young children. In both experiences, the children were between the ages of 6 and 12. Finally, in Hamilton, I also cared for three children of similar ages (7, 9 y 11). During these experiences, I engaged in various activities such as going to the park, bike riding, and exploring the surroundings. Additionally, I fostered healthy habits by limiting screen time and promoting sensory and cognitive development activities through arts and crafts. At the families' request, I also taught Spanish to the children, expanding their vocabulary and introducing them to a new language.
I finished my fourth year of psychology studies at the university in Chile.
