my name is Chanel. I am 21 years old. I come from a big family with a lot of cousins, but I have two younger sisters. I come from a family with different races and religions so I am familiar with different customs. I am going to the University of Toronto and majoring in Biology. My goal is to become a pediatricion. I have been a nanny, swimming instructor, tutor and piano teacher. All of my jobs have been around kids and I loved it. I have my first aid and I am a qualified swimming instructor. I started my own business as a swimming instructor and loved it. I worked with all ages of kids and I loved it. During that job, I also learned how to also have more patience with kids and different ways to work with kids and how to understand kids. I do still do swimming part time but most of my time is being a child care worker. I love working with children and always loved it! Working with the kids I make sure they stay on top of there homework and extra curricular activities. I sit down and make a schedule we can do with the kids like cooking (making tacos), painting, board games, movie days etc.

I have been a nanny for 4 families and have loved it. I love working with kids. In these jobs, I have cooked and cleaned. I have also dropped and picked them up from school and there extra curricular classes. I also come from a huge family and have baby sat many of my cousins (ages 1-12). This includes working with a child with autism (age 12). I also helped them with homework and prepared food for them. I went grocery shopping for the family as well. I always try to make the children feel safe comfortable with me and try to build a bond with them so they can feel those ways with me.

I graduated high school with honours and now I go the University of Toronto in the Mississauga campus. I major in biology and psychology. I want to go in the medical field and become a pediatricion. I do have a back up plan for becoming a biology professor with a PhD. I have always been interested in science, mostly biology.
