I’ve always been someone who genuinely enjoys being around kids. I love their creativity, curiosity, honesty, and the way they see the world. Whether we’re building a blanket fort, exploring a new park, making crafts, baking cookies, creating scavenger hunts, or simply having a dance party, I'm usually having just as much fun as they are. I have a great sense of humour, lots of energy, and believe childhood should be filled with laughter, exploration, and memorable experiences.
What makes my experience unique is my work with foster children and children with diverse behavioural and developmental needs. Through this experience, I’ve developed strong emotional intelligence and a deep understanding that every behaviour is a form of communication. I’ve learned the importance of relationship-building, co-regulation, positive reinforcement, emotional validation, consistency, and creating environments where children feel safe, respected, and understood.
My approach is rooted in connection first. I believe children thrive when they feel heard, valued, and supported. Rather than focusing solely on correcting behaviour, I focus on understanding the “why” behind it, helping children develop emotional regulation skills, confidence, resilience, problem-solving abilities, and healthy communication. I strive to model patience, empathy, accountability, and kindness in every interaction.
As someone pursuing a career in nursing, I have a strong interest in child development, psychology, and evidence based approaches to working with children. I regularly read and learn about topics such as emotional development, attachment, growth mindset, behaviour support, trauma-informed care, and social-emotional learning. I enjoy helping children develop independence, critical thinking skills, emotional awareness, and confidence while still making sure they’re having fun.
I hold CPR and First Aid training through St. John Ambulance and take safety seriously. Families often describe me as dependable, mature, engaging, and easy to communicate with. Kids tend to connect with me because I’m not someone who sits on the sidelines — I’m right there participating, encouraging, teaching, learning, and making everyday moments exciting.
I have reliable transportation, love planning creative activities, and enjoy helping children discover new interests and experiences. My goal is always to create a positive, nurturing environment where children feel safe to learn, grow, be themselves, and most importantly, enjoy being kids.
I am a responsible, energetic, and compassionate childcare provider with several years of experience caring for children of various ages and needs. Most recently, I have worked closely with foster children, including children with behavioural challenges, trauma backgrounds, and FASD. This experience has taught me patience, adaptability, strong communication skills, and the importance of creating a safe, supportive environment for every child.
My responsibilities have included school pick ups and drop offs, administrating medications, meal preparation, planning educational and recreational activities, supervising outings, assisting with daily routines, managing behaviour support strategies, and providing reliable care both in and outside the home. I have experience caring for multiple children at once and am comfortable handling busy schedules independently.
I am currently pursuing a career in nursing and have completed healthcare related training, which has strengthened my understanding of child safety, development, and wellbeing. I am certified in CPR and First Aid through St. John Ambulance and am committed to maintaining a safe environment at all times.
Families describe me as dependable, mature, active, and engaging. I love taking children on adventures, exploring parks, visiting local attractions, doing crafts, playing games, and creating fun experiences while ensuring their safety. I have my own reliable transportation and I am very comfortable driving to and from destinations.
My goal is to provide nurturing, trustworthy care while building positive relationships with both children and parents.
