My name is Marie-Claude, but you can call me Marie. I'm a 24-year-old bilingual (French and English) Master's student from Montreal, currently residing in Oshawa. With 8 years of experience in childcare, I am organized, reliable, and readily available to start immediately.
I am advantaged in offering my services on a part-time basis, with flexible hours throughout the week, including mornings, afternoons, evenings, and nights from Wednesday to Sunday, while offering availability during the mornings on Monday and Tuesday.
As an outdoors enthusiast with a love for cooking and baking, I am adept at keeping children engaged with various activities, as well as preparing healthy, wholesome meals for them. Being able to perform light housekeeping duties, run errands, and do the kids laundry among other tasks truly aid me in providing a wholesome environment for the children I care for.
I am trained in First Aid, CPR, and Nanny Training, along with holding a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering. Professionally, I have gained substantial experience caring for toddlers and children and can comfortably handle up to three kids at a time.
I am eagerly seeking diverse roles like a Babysitter, Nanny/Tutor, Mother's Helper or even a Virtual Babysitter, striving to adapt to the ever-evolving needs of the families I work with. Unfortunately, I do not have experience with children with disabilities.
Looking forward to potentially working with you and providing the best care for your children!
I have been babysitting and tutoring kids for over 8 years, mostly when I lived in Montreal. I was a nanny for over 10 families. The age range of the children for babysitting was 1 to 10 years old, and I would often babysit sibling sets of 2 or 3. I tutored for different school subjects with kids aged 5 to 16. My main school subjects are French, Math, Science and English as Second Language. I can help with other subjects as well. I was also a daycamp counselor at a French learning camp for 2 summers. My groups were 8-10 year olds.
I am trained on CPR, choking and epi-pen use.
Here are a few examples of families I worked for and tasks I would perform.
I was the main babysitter for a family of 2 children. The youngest was 1 (girl) and the oldest was 6 (boy) when I met them. I would care for the children on occasional evenings when the parents would go out. During this time, I would do homework with the oldest (if it was a week night), supper, play time, bedtime and cleanup once the children were in bed. The 2 children had different bedtime routines which I would accommodate. During covid, when daycare shutdown, I took care of the youngest about 3h/day, 5days/week, while the parents worked from home. We would go out to the park nearby and play. I babysat for this family for over 4 years.
With another family with 2 boys (5 and 9), I would do occasional babysitting. I picked them up from school, did homework, lunch/supper, outings to the park and bedtime. We also did tutoring in English (second language) about once a week online. I was their babysitter for over 3 years.
