Suereena W.
I was born in Jamaica and came to Canada as a 3 year old. I live with one parent as my parents are divorced. I love to play sims, read books, and watch movies. I hold a non-judgemental approach and prioritize safety when engaging in various activities with children. I am in no way an authoritarian but firmly ensure house rules are followed and children understand why. I enjoy spending time with kids and find there is so much to learn from their perspectives.
7+ years of experience in childcare working with children and youth with autism, dual diagnosis, disabilities, and special needs between 1-20 years old. I have worked in daycares, after school programming, ABA centres and in homes. I have 2 doses and 1 booster of the vaccine for COVID. I have a Vulnerable Sector Check from 2024 and can obtain a new one. I have my own vehicle and can drive if needed - Driver’s Abstract can be obtained. I currently work with 1 family as a nanny in their home and community caring for a 6 and 10 year old once a month. The family speaks French and I do not, but have been with these kiddos for the last 6 years. I was working full-time as a child protection worker with Children’s Aid. As a full-time Master of Counselling student, I found the school load difficult to bare with my work role. Preferably, I am seeking a part time weekly live-out position where I can still cover my school fees. I am open to full time positions and am willing to make a long-term commitment with the right family :)
Graduating with a Master of Counselling in 2026. Completed ABA training. Worked as an ECA with training.
