My name is Isabel. I was born in Canada in 2006. I am born of both Afghan and Trini heritage. When it comes to my interests outside of school and family life, I find joy in tutoring children. I believe in nurturing young minds and helping them grow. In spending quality time with my family, I find comfort, as they provide unwavering support in my life. I enjoy reading, and playing chess in my spare time. I’m patient, reliable, and a clear communicator, and I work well with others.

I hold a babysitting certificate and currently work at Scholars Ajax in Ontario, where I tutor preschool and early-elementary children on letters, phonics, early reading, and foundational math. Sessions focus on patient, age-appropriate instruction, positive reinforcement, and clear routines. I communicate progress to parents, prep simple activities that match each child’s level, and keep kids engaged with stories, crafts, and learning games. Outside of tutoring, I’ve helped raise my younger siblings from infancy through school age, so I’m comfortable with daily routines like meal prep, homework help, bath and bedtime, and keeping a calm, safe environment when emotions run high. I also assisted at my mom’s home daycare, regularly caring for 3–4 children at a time. That meant supervising play indoors and outdoors, planning quiet time, resolving conflicts kindly, maintaining a tidy space, and keeping a close eye on safety and hygiene. Families describe me as reliable, warm, and organized. Kids I’ve worked with have progressed from learning their ABCs to reading simple sentences, and shy students often open up after a few sessions. I’m familiar with basic first-aid principles and safe caregiving practices, and I take punctuality and communication seriously.
