About Makai: We’re looking for a caring, consistent childcare provider for my son Makai, who is 3 years old. Makai is an absolute joy — kind-hearted, playful, and full of energy. He’s a typical busy boy who loves cars, trucks, trains, bikes, the park, and the beach. He thrives on connection and does best when he has a warm, consistent relationship with his caregiver. Like most three-year-olds, Makai is still developing his understanding of cause and effect, so he needs patient, attentive supervision — especially in open spaces like the park or beach where excitement can make it hard to transition or listen. He requires reminders to hold hands when crossing the road and needs a caregiver who understands this is developmentally normal and responds with calm redirection rather than frustration. He has a great appetite and loves mealtimes. The Role: •He is still in diapers so any potty training help would be appreciated Once a week to start (8-12:30 Am) or (3:00 to 9:00) Saturdays with potential to grow to twice a month • Light housekeeping during Makai’s downtime • Prepare one simple, nutritious meal for Makai • Engage him in active, age-appropriate play and safety-based learning (road safety, stranger awareness, etc.) • Consistent hand-holding near roads and active supervision in open spaces What we are looking for: • ECE certification or equivalent education background strongly preferred • First Aid/CPR certified (required) • Criminal record check (vulnerable sector) — required before start • Patient, warm, and reliable — Makai bonds deeply so consistency matters • Someone who can set boundaries and follow through calmly • Experience with active toddlers and outdoor play • Cooking skills an asset
