Employer: Private Position: Child Caregiver Terms of Employment: Full-time / Permanent Location: Thornhill, Ontario – Major Intersection: Bathurst and Centre Street Hours of Work: 40 hours per week Language: English Salary: $17.17 CAD/hour Duties: • Supervise and care for children in employer's own residence; • Bathe, dress and feed children; • Plan, prepare and serve meals for children and may perform other housekeeping duties; • Oversee children’s activities, such as meals and rest periods, as instructed by employer; • Maintain a safe and healthy environment in the home; • Instruct children on and assist with personal hygiene; • Tend to the emotional well-being of children and support their social development; • Discipline children according to the methods requested by the parents; • Provide age-appropriate educational training through organized activities such as games, crafts, reading and outings; • Take children to and from programs, school and appointments; and • Performing other errands as required. Requirements: • Minimum one (1) year of caregiving experience with 2 or more children; • Reliable and has excellent communication skills; • Nurturing, attentive and effective interpersonal skills; • Completion of High School required; and • Must be flexible to work evenings and weekends, if needed.
