Vancouver family with 3 children (and 2 dogs) needs a fully engaged, well prepared professional Educator / Caregiver to create a fun playing and learning environment for the summer and through the school year. The family intends to spend most of the summer at an Interior cabin so willingness to travel AND live in a rural setting is required (lakeside accommodations for up to 5 people included). Fluency in Catalan is a strongly-preferred asset. Your job is to manage a combination of unstructured playtime and structured learning time. These kids are quick learners and would benefit significantly from exposure to: • sports and outdoor activities including swimming, biking, running, rowing, soccer and yoga • an educator able to provide an immersive experience in the Catalan language • reading for comprehension and fluency in English and Catalan • mathematics including the 4 basic functions, decimals, fractions, probabilities and statistics • penmanship basics including grip, alignment, spacing and speed • music, singing and dancing • meal planning and preparation (once per week) • art work • field trips Requirements • excellent morals and values • strong scholastic skills and strategies • legally eligible to work in Canada • minimum 2 years childcare experience • strong deepwater swimmer, CPR and First Aid Certificate • detailed learning plans and progress reports to support learning time activities • limited reliance upon electronic devices • travel within British Columbia Specifics: • Hours: 9:00 to 12:00 for play time and 1:30 to 4:30 for learning time • Pay: all in $20 per hour • Start date: preferred June 1 with commitment through the end of summer 2026 This is an extremely difficult job and requires a fully engaged, well prepared professional.
