We are a busy family of three, residing in Rockcliffe Park. We are in need of a nanny who can assist us with household chores and the care of our 4-year-old daughter. Our daughter enjoys swimming, outdoor play, baking, and crafts. She attends Elmwood School in Rockcliffe and requires transportation Monday through Thursday. On Fridays, you have the option to work half-days and finish early, or not work at all, as I do not work on Fridays. The choice is yours. Your responsibilities would include cleaning, cooking for the family, laundry, shopping, driving to extracurricular activities and assisting with homework. A shopping budget for and a gas allowance will be provided. We're planning to acquire a puppy in the near future, so experience with dogs will be an added advantage. Other tasks include: tidying in between our housekeeper’s biweekly visits, rotating seasonal clothes, organizing supplies, supervising tradesmen, pool man and gardeners. We are not expecting a cordon bleu-chef but would like our nanny to possess some level of cooking skills, since he or she will be cooking 4 dinners per week. No worries, we enjoy simple home cooked meals and are not fussy. Candidates with experience, specifically in early childhood education, and who are fluent in French will be favored. However, attributes such as personality, honesty, reliability, and a genuine love of children are of utmost importance to us. Working hours are from 7:30am to 6:30 pm Monday to Thursday with 1 hour off for lunch. It’s a full time schedule of 40H over 4 days or about 50K/year. The position is long term and ideally the right candidate would be willing to stay with us for years to come. Our last nanny took her retirement after working 18 years for us. The starting date is flexible. Other benefits include four weeks of paid vacation per year. All statutory holidays are off and paid. Gas allowance is provided for errands and school runs.
