Part-Time Childcare Support Worker for happy toddler with medical needs
Childcare Support Worker – New Westminster Part-Time | In-Home | Weekdays We are seeking a calm, compassionate, and energetic childcare support worker to care for our 22-month-old daughter in our New Westminster home. She is a happy, curious little girl who loves books, toys, and playful interaction. Due to complex medical needs and delayed gross-motor development, her mobility is closer to that of a 9-month-old, and her care includes gentle, play-based therapies. Mom works from home, so you will not be alone in the house, but you will be the primary caregiver during your shift. What a Typical Day Looks Like - Morning playtime and a stroller walk outdoors - Noon nap - Afternoon play incorporating physiotherapy exercises - Screen-free, enrichment-focused activities throughout the day Schedule & Pay - Pay: (negotiable based on experience) - Hours: 8 hours per day, 2 days per week - Days: Tuesdays and Thursdays - Time: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (some flexibility available) - Hours may vary occasionally Location - In our home in New Westminster Required Qualifications - Experience with early childcare - Experience with, or willingness to learn, basic medical care (specifically G-tube care) - Comfortable learning and assisting with: - Play-based physiotherapy exercises - Oral stimulation and feeding therapies for a tube-fed child - Fast learner (training will be provided; care needs will evolve over time) - Ability to lift up to 25 lbs - Valid First Aid and CPR-C certification - Ability to follow a care plan and daily schedule - Commitment to screen-free, play-based enrichment Additional Qualities We’re Looking For - Excellent communication skills - Calm, reliable, compassionate, and playful personality - Comfortable with dogs (we have a friendly corgi 🐶) If you enjoy working closely with children, are comfortable learning medical-adjacent care, and value nurturing development through play, we’d love to hear from you.
