Job Summary
An active, engaging and experienced nanny is needed for a busy and creative family near High Park. We are looking for a caring and proactive nanny to shift between caring for 3 children ages 3, 7 and 9 and acting as a house manager. The parents are very hands on and shift between working (from home) and spending time with their children. The mom home schools the children but we need a nanny who will plan outings, activities, play dates and fields trips bases on the children’s interests.
We are looking for someone who is a great communicator who has experience working with multiple children of different ages.
The parent’s work schedules are ever changing. The family can either offer part-time or full-time hours but we need someone who can commit to the travel requirements of this position. The nanny will be paid full-time hours while traveling. We need someone who is comfortable jumping between roles as a nanny and a house manager.
House manager duties include: Assisting with laundry, meal prep (freezer meals), tidying and organizing, packing and unpacking for the children, emptying and loading the dishwasher, emptying garbages, ordering supplies for the children, managing the children’s schedules, running errands, doing groceries etc. No deep cleaning is needed.
Both parents work in the film industry and travel for work from 1 week to a few months at a time. We need a nanny who is excited about the opportunity and who’s lifestyle allows for committing to travelling for work. The nanny will always have their own room when traveling and will have a normal schedule with a lot of time off to explore on their own. All expenses will be paid by the family while traveling. During travel the nanny will be responsible for researching, booking and conducting activities for the children.
Location: Runnymede and Bloor W (High Park Area)
Child's age: 3, 7 and 9 years
Start Date: As soon as the right fit is found
Contract length: Long term with a 1 year contract to start
Schedule: Monday to Friday 10:00am-6:00pm or 2:00-6:00pm -
Hourly Rate: $25-$30/hour gross
Responsibilities
Provide attentive and responsible care for children in a safe and nurturing environment.
Engage children in age-appropriate activities, such as imaginary play, cooking/baking projects, games, crafts, and educational play (including kindergarten prep)
Keep the children stimulated and active.
Plan, prepare and serve meals and snacks for children ensuring they receive proper nutrition.
Plan, register, pick up and drop children off at activities and appointments (Driving an asset)
Plan creative and imaginative outings and activities for the children based on their interests
Purchase and keep stock of supplies for educational activities (using the family’s credit card)
Personal hygiene: getting the children ready for the day (dressed, brushing teeth, combing hair, etc.)
Assist with household tasks such as, laundry, tidying up after meals, loading and unloading the dishwasher, emptying garbages/diaper bins, rotating toys and seasonal clothing, cleaning up play areas, bedroom and packing and unpacking suitcases, etc.
Assist as needed with meal prep (family or children) laundry (family or children)
Grocery shopping and maintain stock of necessities in the home
Short errands, such as dropping something off at the local post office, dropping off/picking up dry cleaning, etc.
Maintain open and clear communication with parents regarding the child's daily activities, progress, and any concerns that may arise.
Travel with the family
Research, plan and execute activities for the children during travel
Requirements/Qualifications
5+ years of Nanny experience in a private home
5+ years of experience working with children
Experience traveling with families
Ability to provide a safe and secure environment for children
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with both children and parents
Strong organizational skills to manage daily routines and schedules.
Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude when engaging with children.
Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
Basic cooking skills to prepare meals
Drivers licence required
First Aid/CPR required or willing to renew
Police clearance required or willing to renew
3 Childcare/Nanny references required
