We’re looking for someone dependable, thoughtful, and kind to provide childcare once or twice a week for our family. Additional hours may be available for someone who is also interested in housekeeping. We have three children: • A 7-year-old boy • An 8-year-old girl • A 13-year-old boy (he’s generally not around on weekends, and only sometimes on weekdays — so care is primarily for the younger two unless it’s something like a swim outing, which he enjoys). The kids are bright, funny, and full of curiosity. They love swimming, art, playdough and modeling clay, music, board games, video games, books, movies, parks, and nature walks. They’ve also recently taken an interest in baking, cooking, and creative learning like math and writing. There’s a long list of things they enjoy — we just haven’t always had the time or capacity to give them as much of that as we’d like. We’re hoping to find someone who can offer not just supervision, but presence — someone who enjoys spending time with children and finds joy in helping them explore, create, and grow. That said, we’re also realistic: this is a babysitting role first and foremost, so we don’t expect anyone to be “everything.” But if you have skills or passions you enjoy sharing with kids (even just play, music, or reading), they’ll probably love it. All three children are neurodivergent (high-functioning autism and ADHD), but unless told, most people wouldn’t notice. They’re social, expressive, and advanced in several areas academically. Executive functioning and eating habits are where challenges tend to show up most — so if you happen to enjoy helping kids feel more confident around food, executive functioning skills, or learning, that would be appreciated (but it’s not a requirement). We’re also hiring separately for someone to assist with those areas in a more dedicated support role, but we’re open to someone who could potentially wear both hats. It’s not an expectation — just a note in case it happens to align with your strengths or interests. Our Current Needs: • Occasional babysitting (once or twice a week) in our home, or possibly yours if preferred (after an appropriate introductory period) • Most often evenings or weekends, to give us time for errands or a rare night out • Open to outings (including to the pool, which the kids love) • Someone who’s engaging, dependable, and communicates well We’re new to this platform and still getting familiar with how it works, but we’ll reach out to applicants whose personality and availability seem like a good fit.
